John M. Zukowski, Attorney at Law

John Zukowski is a Partner with Zukowski, Bresenhan & Piazza LLP, where he focuses his practice on oil and gas litigation. John has been a trial lawyer for more than 30 years.  He began his career with a law firm that specialized in insurance defense work.  This early experience gave John a comprehensive introduction to the intricacies of judicial procedure and courtroom work.  He left the insurance defense firm for a more extensive court room experience by joining the Washtenaw County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.  During his time in the district attorney’s office, John tried hundreds of cases, both jury and non-jury.  His experience included everything from bovine-at-large to murder in the first degree with an insanity defense.  Since leaving the district attorney’s office, John has been in private practice providing expert guidance to clients in the energy industry.  He is board certified in civil litigation and his experience covers the complete range of oil and gas cases representing plaintiffs, defendants, individuals, companies, industry and mineral and surface owners.  John has been recognized for his professionalism and achievements by his designation as a Super Lawyer, a title he has held since 2005. He has also received recognition for his expertise in energy law by his inclusion in the Best Lawyers in Texas publication and holds the prestigious Martindale Hubbell rating of Preeminent AV for the Highest Level of Professional Excellence and High Ethical Standing.
